Here are some pics of the code fixes, fireblocking, electrical, etc...

Only ONE wire on each breaker...hmmm.

Only ONE wire on each ground terminal... hmmm.

Fire blocking... if there is ever a fire in this wall... well it is not going to spread very far. Fire caulking is relatively expensive and messy. So far, the BIGGEST PIA of the project!

And now for some screen pics!

A DIY screen. Made from 1x3" Oak strips and Black Out cloth for the screen. Edge blanking on screen provided by black felt.

Can't wait to drywall, paint and start watching some films!

Electrical and framing inspections passed! I finished the projector mount in the ceiling and did some general clean up of the room... this weekend drywall will be started. Some pics...

Projector going up!

While creating this projector mount, a huge rain storm came through the northern VA/DC area. Many parts of VA/DC were flooded... including a little bit of my basement...

Small amount of water under the door... it sucked. It was caused by the following not draining fast enough...

I think I have it unclogged now... I hope!

Next time... drywall!

Drywall boards complete. Mud, taping, sanding, etc... will be next. Followed by paint, recessed lights, and finish trim. About 70% of the way to a completed theater at this point. Some pics...

Projector mount behind this drywall.

:D

Next will be finishing drywall... and paint.

7/23/06

Done with 1st and 2nd applications of drywall "mud". A third and final patch up/smooth over and then sanding it down... pics below...

Soon after the drywall finishing, will be painting, carpeting, and finish electrical. :D
